Inspired by people like Donalyn Miller, who are encouraging their students to read more by giving them greater freedom to choose what they read for class, I am allowing my students to pick the primary author they want to work with this semester. One of my students chose Roddy Doyle and I found a bunch of his short stories available from "The New Yorker". Enjoy.
"Ash"
"Sleep"
"Bullfighting"
"The Dog"
"Teaching"
"The Photograph"
"The Joke"
"Recuperation"
HI!!!
ReplyDeleteHaven`t got the chance to read these short stories yet, but I certainly will do...aas soon as I find some spare time between teatching, english assignments and GLU-preparations.....I`m really looking forward to read them:-)
Great Edith Anne! Let me know which ones you liked best - easy to read, most exciting, provocative, etc. - so that I'll have a better idea which one to use in class. Cheers!
