The Nebula Award nominees have been posted.  This is an important Science-Fiction/Fantasy award in the States and many of the stories can be found online. I read this story by Jennifer Pelland last night, a little morbid but interesting.  I haven't had time to read the Kij Johnson story yet but I have really liked some of her stuff in the past (like this story that I read with my kids).  Let me know what you think.

  1. Morbid and sad... It made me think of something I heard or read somewhere;about a kid who died and in heaven all the kids had fun and to move on they were suposed to walk together with lit candles. This boy could never go with the other kids, because his mothers tears killed his flame every time. She could`nt move on with her life and therefore neither could he....

  2. Story is strange as well because it seems to suggest that remembering the dead can be torture for them.
