I saw a program about the dog on TV here the other day, and it was quite impressing. They also said that human and dogs are more alike when it comes to comunication than human/monky. Monkies were not able to read ex pointing direction (and body language)as a supplement to language ("The food is under that box" + pointing). Dogs could even read on your eyeball where the food was hidden if you looked in that direction. They claimed this to be tha main reason why the dog became man's best friend.
